Kauche is seeking an ML Lead Engineer to technically lead their machine learning initiatives, focusing on recommendation systems for their social commerce app with over 7 million downloads. The role involves designing and implementing ML-driven product experiences, making technical decisions, and improving ML infrastructure.
Must-haves
- 3+ years of practical experience in recommendation systems (content, product, personalization, ranking) product development.
- Proven experience delivering results in a production environment with MAU of hundreds of thousands or more.
- Experience in model implementation, feature engineering, preprocessing, MLOps (operations, monitoring), accuracy improvement, and effect verification.
- Experience leading technical aspects of a team or project.
- Japanese Language Proficiency Test N1 or higher.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in e-commerce or social media recommendation systems.
- Experience developing and operating real-time inference environments.
- Knowledge of data engineering and infrastructure construction (AWS, GCP, Databricks, BigQuery, etc.).
- Deep knowledge of specific ML techniques (CF, MF, DNN, Transformer, Two-Tower, Wide & Deep, GNN, DeepFM, etc.).
- Team building experience.
- Product Manager experience.

Annual salary: ¥7,200,000 - ¥15,600,000. Probationary period: 3 months.
