This role involves research and development in the rapidly growing electricity market, focusing on generation and demand forecasting, electricity market price prediction, and optimizing trading plans for power plants and storage facilities using AI Agents. You will be responsible for the entire cycle from research and implementation to operational deployment and improvement.
Must-haves
- Daily development using AI Agents (Claude Code/Codex)
- Basic knowledge of machine learning and mathematical optimization
- Ability to implement and improve algorithms based on research papers
- Backend service implementation experience with Python
- Analysis experience using analytical databases like BigQuery or Snowflake
- Code development experience with GitHub
- Sufficient Japanese communication skills for business discussions
Nice-to-haves
- Work experience with systems using machine learning or mathematical optimization
- Experience with time series forecasting or probabilistic forecasting (quantile prediction)
- Experience in the electricity or energy market

Salary: Monthly 500,000 JPY - 1,250,000 JPY (Annual 6,000,000 JPY - 15,000,000 JPY). Includes 45 hours of fixed overtime per month.
