■ Background for Hiring
Goodpatch, with its mission to "Prove the power of design," has aimed to advance the world through heart-stirring designs. Now, as our next challenge, we are venturing into an area where AI is transforming the very nature of business.
Within the company, app development using Claude Code has become commonplace, and we are beginning to share across the entire organization the sense that "the prerequisites for software development are changing." We are recruiting engineers to be involved in a new product born from these initiatives.
We are designing from scratch both the "environment for creating apps" and the "environment where created apps run," where AI creates business apps and we provide the infrastructure for those apps to actually operate, in an end-to-end manner. This is an area with very few precedents in Japan and is the product with the highest technical difficulty.
The members who have been central to development are concurrently involved in multiple products. To significantly accelerate development speed from here, we are looking for colleagues to build the infrastructure together. This is an opportunity to be involved from the early stages of the launch and to influence the very foundation of the product.
■ Expected Role / Main Missions
The reliability of this product is determined by the strength of its underlying infrastructure. We want you to support the fundamental requirement that business apps created by users continue to run safely and without interruption.
Currently, engineers involved in the launch are handling everything from frontend to backend. We are looking to welcome our second core member who will primarily be responsible for backend and infrastructure. We want someone who can think together with the business side and development members about "what needs to be built" rather than waiting for instructions, and who can leave the knowledge gained from what they build within the team.
We want to build the early stages of the product together with someone who can operate in this manner.
■ Specific Job Duties
- Design, implementation, and operation of the infrastructure (execution environment, data infrastructure) that can safely execute business apps generated by AI.
- Backend development on GCP (Cloud Run / Cloud SQL, etc.) and construction of asynchronous processing.
- Ensuring security and reliability required for business systems.
- Development from requirement definition in collaboration with the business side and development members (participation from before specifications are finalized).
- Documenting development knowledge and design decisions to enhance the team's development capabilities.
Upon joining, we expect you to first understand the existing infrastructure and then become the primary lead in the backend and infrastructure domain, dividing responsibilities with the core member. You will also be responsible for scaling in line with the product's growth.
■ About the Team
As this is a new product development team, it is currently a small team composed only of core members, professionals from business, design, and engineering fields. Development is proceeding with AI utilization as a premise.

▼Required Skills/Experience
- Practical experience in backend development for web services/business systems.
- Experience in infrastructure construction, operation, and incident response on the cloud (GCP preferred, AWS experience also acceptable).
- Development experience that understands the security and reliability required for business systems.
- Experience participating in technical decision-making and design for products.
- Proactive attitude to work independently from before specifications are finalized and to think through requirements together.
- Ability to document development knowledge and share it with the team.

- Experience in launching from scratch (0 to 1) in a startup or new product.
- Full-stack development experience (ability to work on frontend as well).
- Experience utilizing AI-driven development (Claude Code, etc.).
- Experience in designing and implementing scheduling and background processing.
- Interest in business/commerce and connecting excellent technology to user value.

We are looking for individuals who have built backend and infrastructure from the ground up in startups or growth-stage products. In particular, experience in thinking about "how to build" from a foundational level, rather than operating on an environment already set up by others, is needed at this phase.
We believe that individuals who can balance rapid releases with a strong emphasis on necessary security and reliability will find this role engaging. We are looking for someone who can imagine themselves thinking through requirements with the business side from the outset, rather than waiting for specifications to be finalized, and who can contribute their learnings to the team.
