We are seeking a Product Engineer to evolve the core system supporting our physical store network, Jimoty Spot. This role involves designing and developing business systems and products for our expanding network of reuse stores, aiming for 330 locations by 2030. You will work on scaling the system to handle multiple store formats and improving the data capture process for unique items.
Must-haves
- 5+ years of backend (server-side) development experience for web services or business systems.
- Willingness to independently learn Ruby on Rails, even with experience in other languages like Java, C#, Go, or PHP.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience developing with AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex).
- Experience developing with Ruby on Rails.
- Experience building/operating infrastructure in cloud environments like AWS.
- Experience developing business or core systems (e.g., POS, inventory management, logistics).
- Experience with systems involving hardware/device integration.
- Experience applying image recognition or LLMs to products.

Work style
Hybrid (1-2 days/week in office). Location: Tokyo (Gotanda, 1 min walk from JR Gotanda Station).
Other notes
Salary: 6,000,000 - 9,000,000 JPY/year (includes 45 hours of fixed overtime). Consideration based on skills/experience. Full-time employee. 3-month probation period.
