TENTIAL is seeking a Data Engineer to build and operate their data infrastructure. You will work with a small, elite team to ensure reliable data delivery, supporting real-time data-driven decision-making across the company. This role offers the opportunity to establish a modern development and operation style using generative AI.
Must-haves
- 1+ year of practical experience as a Data Engineer
- Ability to write SQL for data extraction and processing
- Practical experience with Python for data processing and pipeline implementation
- Experience building/modifying cloud data platforms like BigQuery
- Experience implementing data pipelines using Dataform
- Practical experience with basic CLI tools (Git, shell)
- Experience using coding assistance AI (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot)
- Experience implementing, modifying, and operating systems hands-on
- Ability to logically organize information and explain it clearly
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Looker/LookML or understanding of BI tool and data infrastructure integration
- Experience with data analysis and dashboard design
- Experience with GCP access control and security design (IAM, Policy Tags, etc.)
- Experience building/operating CI/CD with GitHub Actions
- Experience with data governance and data catalog maintenance
- Experience with data infrastructure for multi-channel businesses (EC, D2C, retail)
- Experience proposing and promoting data preparation and infrastructure improvements

Work style
Remote work possible. Full flex-time system (no core hours). Location: Tokyo HQ (Shinagawa). Hybrid work is determined by the manager based on work content and situation.
Other notes
Salary: 4,200,000 - 10,008,000 JPY/year (negotiable). Includes 45 hours of fixed overtime per month. Performance-based bonus available. 3-month probation period.
